Project: Advanced Analytics Program

Add powerful, data-driven insights and machine learning prediction capabilities to your business

Advanced Analytics Program

The Advanced Analytics Program is the first 3-shield program in Canada on advanced analytics. Created by the University of Montreal, HEC Montreal Business School and Polytechnique Montreal, the Advanced Analytics Program has data science in its DNA: statistics, computer science and business domains are all blended to create a true integrated and experiential learning-based program.

The goal is to leverage data-driven decision-making to reach decision-driven data analytics skills.

All the courses integrate the three dimensions of data science. For instance, the People Analytics course leverages data and functional languages (Python, R, etc.) to provide strategic recommendations for the future of a company’s human resources.

Keywords: agile company, digital transformation, AI factory, experiential learning, decision-driven data analytics

Description

This program is offered in two formats:

  1. A comprehensive on-site program using the latest pedagogical tools to create a new generation of data-driven decision makers.

  2. An online, hybrid and co-modal version of the on-site program to develop the necessary knowledge to embark on the digital transformation.

Decision-driven data analytics

With this master’s program, gain the expertise needed to solve business challenges by adding powerful, data-driven insights and prediction capabilities to your skills.

The Advanced Analytics Program is a one-year master’s program offered on a blended format with synchronous session (live online, in-person components, peer-to-peer) and asynchronous session (multimedia cases, simulations, etc.). Students enrolled in the program have access to a unique cutting-edge Data Science Platform that gives you access to all the tools you need through a web browser with nothing to install.

Program Delivery

The program is offered in two ways:

  1. On site, on campus in Montreal in the Montreal Institute of Advanced Analytics (MIAA) at the heart of the new University of Montreal’s campus

  2. Online, hybrid and co-modal: in a hybrid format with synchronous and asynchronous courses, with two immersion periods at the beginning and the end of the curriculum.

The Advanced Analytics Program is offered in both formats, on-site and online, and bridges exist between the on-site and the online formats, should a student face a need to adjust.

The on-site version is a blend of the latest pedagogical developments in data science to empower students. Students have access to an impressive portfolio of assets allowing them to take ownserhip of their learning.

The online version combines asynchronous and synchronous sessions. It is built around case studies, multimedia cases and projects / e-simulations. It integrates peer-review sessions and students have access to teaching assistants to support them during their courses.
