Introduction

Here are the recommendations for your country report, which will be your final report.

Before submitting your final report, you will need to submit several intermediate works

Reading the reference country report and choose a country - deadline Jan. 17, 2020

By Jan. 17, 2020, you must have read a country report of your choice and choose a country for your country report.

As reference you can read the following country report:

You must indicate us the choice of your country to realize your country report in the countryreport rocketchat channel.

This report is a general report showing a set of indicators for the country. You are free for your country report, you can choose to focus on one area for example.

Executive summary: Why this country? (2.5%) - deadline Jan. 24, 2020

By Jan. 24, 2020, you must submit an executive summary explaining why you chosen this country. The length of the executive summary should be between 100-500 words. You must submit your executive summary in the countryreport rocketchat channel.

Impactful Visualization (2.5%) - deadline Feb. 7, 2020

By Feb. 7, 2020, you must submit one impactful visualization about your country in a blog format. You must make this visual using the SKEMA Quantum Platform.

We want you to spend time thinking about your country report, and in particular the angle you want to give it. For example, do you want to do something more macroeconomic, or more on your country’s international presence, or more on the innovation dimension, etc.? This visual exercise is therefore to synthesize - if possible - one of the contributions of your report. In a visual (it can be several graphs in facetting mode, see the virtual campus for this), will the reader understand the narrative behind it? We are asking in blog format, which means that you will be able to explain a little bit the visual, the angle it highlights about your country. On another subject, it will allow you to put the best visuals on our blog and help build your “portfolio”.

The visual should be rendered in a .zip file, which will contain the .Rmd file, the .html file and other resources if necessary. The .zip file can be submitted in the countryreport rocketchat channel. Please name your .zip file as follow: firstNameLastNameVisual.zip.

Flexdashboard with the top 5 indicators (2.5%) - deadline Feb. 21, 2020

By Feb. 21, 2020, you must submit a flexdashboard which highlights the most relevant indicators or combinaison of indicators for the country you have chosen. The flexdashboard must be done using SKEMA Quantum Studio framework.

The flexdashboard should be rendered in a .zip file, which will contain the .Rmd file, the .html file and other resources if necessary. The .zip file can be submitted in the countryreport rocketchat channel. Please name your .zip file as follow: firstNameLastNameFlexdashboard.zip.

Presentation (2.5%) - deadline March 6, 2020

By March 6, 2020, you must submit a presentation of maximum 15 slides that present your country report through different indicators and visuals. The presentation can be in beamer, ioslides, slidy, reveals or any format as long as it is done with SKEMA Quantum Studio framework

You must submit your presentation in the countryreport rocketchat channel. Please name your presentation file as follow: firstNameLastNamePresentation.zip.

Final Report (30%) - deadline March 20, 2020

By March 20, 2020, you must submit your final report. The length of the report should be 4500 words, excluding the bibliography and appendices. The report should be done in RMarkdown.

The maximal length of the report should be 4500 words, excluding the bibliography and the appendices (a word count option can be found in the Add-Ins menu of your console, and there is also a Spelling and Grammar correction tool in the Edit menu, see the forum on this website).

NOTE: The basic codes in RMarkdown will be provided during the sessions.
