Today, we will have a perspective on how technological innovations ca be used to tackle some of the world challenges. We will start with a case study from DMV, and then we will dive into the political changes due to technology and the platofrm economy companies. We will conclude our day with the global climate change challenges at a time of global technological changes.
Imagining a quantum-ready region now.
Imagine hyper-accurate long-term weather forecasting delivered in sufficient time to move our families to safety. Imagine the possibility of new life-saving drugs discovered through faster analysis of complex molecules. Imagine the impact on climate change using new carbon-capturing materials and long-lasting batteries for green energy. Imagine new supply chain and logistics data management and modeling and what it could mean for issues like hunger and food waste. Imagine a world where we can simulate live models of natural systems such as photosynthesis and eventually consciousness. Right now, it’s hard to imagine a quantum-empowered future — but the future is within reach.

I have organized this event at George Washington University.
Our speaker will be Olivier Knox. He is in all likelihood the best journalist right now in the U.S. in terms of American politics in a global context while intersecting with the delivery of the information (news wires, twitter, etc.).
Olivier will discuss the ways journalism has changed over the course of his career – and the ways it has stayed the same. We are all becoming news wires. But we are also now competing with misinformation and disinformation in a way he had not expected when he started out.
